Day 1 PNINS Vist

Today my class went to PNINS to see their performing arts groups. There were drama, jazz band, rock band, choir, dance,  Pasifika and kapa haka. My favourite was drama but I liked Pasifika too. I was really happy to see the drama group because on Fridays I do drama in the performing arts centre  there.  Next year when I go to PNINS I think that I will join the drama group. I love drama and I hope that I will get in.

TTS

On Tuesday 10 May 2016 we had TTS. If you do not know what TTS means, it means Traditional teaching style. The three main things I remember seeing the most are:

1. Tables and chairs in rows and knowing that it was not going to be a normal day.
2. Seeing the teachers dressed up in some of their best clothes but it made them look old school.
3. Having a timetable on the board that everyone had to follow.

I did not feel like I could say anything. When we had to marching, I had a feeling that Mr R and Miss G had done the same last year. I remember seeing GRi11 marching across the quad in straight lines with no talking! I could feel a laugh ready to burst out, but I had to hold it in because it was very serious!

One thing I hated was when Mr R said we had to get one piece of food from our lunchbox, and hold it in our left hand and Mr R said "bite" and "chew." We could only eat when he told us!

There was one moment when I thought did they print off the notices? because if they did that it would be funny.
After the TTS we had to do a CSI. This is my CSI (colour, symbol, image) of TTS.
This is my CSI of what learning in GRi11 2.0 is usually like. They are very different. I hope that no-one has to learn like TTS.

2016 Cat Show

On the 1st of May 2016 there was a cat show in Palmerston North at Barber Hall. There were over 200 cats. Some were big cats and some were little cats. My top three favourite cats are Maine Coon, Sphinx and Ragdoll but my number one favourite cat is a Maine Coon. The height of adult Maine Coons can vary between 25 and 41 cm tall and they can reach a length of up to 120 cm including the tail, which can reach a length 36 cm.

Sugar Argument

Dear Mr John Key

I have a question for you. Why does New Zealand not have a tax on sugary drinks and lollies?  I am writing to you today because you have to put a tax on sugary drinks. I am going to tell you why New Zealand needs taxes on sugary drinks and lollies.

Diabetes is a huge health problem! People, not just in NZ, but all around the world are getting diabetes from having too much sugar. At the supermarket sugary drinks are cheaper than milk.  Even if they taste the same people would buy the sugary drink because it’s cheaper. Lollies are sometimes food and people all around the world are not having them as a sometimes food.

So Mr John Key, I think you should put a tax on sugary drink.

Your sincerely

Aisha
